Kennington Medical
Practice provides access to high-quality, comprehensive medical care tailored
to the individual needs of our patients.
We believe everyone deserves quality healthcare when, where, and how they need
it. Whether it’s a blood test, mental health support, repeat prescriptions, or
referrals to specialists, our team is here to support you and your family every
step of the way.
Location.
We are located at 157 St Aidan’s Road, Kennington.
Parking.
On-site parking is
available, including one designated disabled space.
Booking an appointment: Kennington Medical Practice is an
appointment-based clinic. Appointments can be made easily by phone or through
our 24-hour online booking
Booking System.
Please note that some doctors and all specialists are not available for online booking. If your preferred doctor or specialist does not appear online, please contact our reception team on (03) 5454 3973.
Seeking a doctor of Your Choice.
Our administration team work hard to book you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. All of our doctors value providing quality health care and working as a team. If your preferred doctor is not available, we will do our best to offer you an appointment with another doctor.
New Patient.
It is a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes early for your first appointment if you have not completed your registration online. Please ensure you bring the following items to your first appointment:A current Medicare Card
Private health Fund DetailsConcession cards include Health Care Card, Eligible Veterans Affairs (DVA) card or pension card.
Any relevant test results or referrals from another clinic or specialist
Cancellation.
At Kennington Medical
Practice, our team of health professionals is dedicated to being available for
you and all our patients. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please
notify Reception at least 4 hours in advance for GP appointments and 48 hours
for specialist appointments. This allows us to offer your time to another
patient.
Please note that failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a
non-attendance fee.
Change of Detail.
If any of your personal details change or require updating, we request you please inform reception via phone or at your next appointment. This can include a a change of name, address, contact number, email address, or next of kin
After-Hours Care.
Kennington Medical
Practice offers after-hours care exclusively to existing patients through our
own general practitioners. Our clinic has a roster of senior GPs who provide
teleconsultations during the after-hours period.
Please note, this after-hours service is not bulk-billed, and an out-of-pocket
fee will apply.
If you require after-hours care, please call 5454 3973 and follow the prompts.
Home Visits.
Where safe and
reasonable, Kennington Medical Practice offers visits to regular patients at
their homes, aged or residential care facilities, or hospitals, both during and
outside normal working hours.
Home or other visits can be arranged by the patient or requested by a general
practitioner if the following criteria are met:
The patient is a regular patient of the clinic
The patient resides within a reasonable traveling distance of the practice
The visit is safe and reasonable to conduct
Please note that all home visits must be discussed with a GP before booking
through reception.
Email Policy.
EMAIL WILL NOT
BE USED to discuss or diagnose any medical issues or to book
appointments, as it is intended to be primarily used for one-way communication
to patients. To book an appointment or seek medical assistance, the
patient should call our office at 5454 3973. Email should never be
used for emergency problems.
